Here you’ll find my 31 days of Journaling Through Proverbs. There are 31 chapters in Proverbs and I spent one day on each chapter. I’ve posted my journal entry for that day.
These are my journal entries, not deep theological studies of the entire chapter. Each entry is simply what I received from the Lord for that day. I am drawn to a specific word, phrase or verse and it is there that I sense God speaking to me through His Word. Often it is exactly what I need to hear for that moment, but on some days it is a truth or revelation that I write down and can come back to later. I am always amazed how days, weeks or even months a situation will come up and I will find myself in a conversation and I am reminded of a previous journal entry; A truth God was speaking to me for the future, a word I didn’t even know I needed.
Set aside a little time for the next 31 days to Journal Through Proverbs. You can check out my journal entry each day and share in the comments below what God is speaking to you from that specific chapter. I love hearing from you and I can’t wait to read what you sense God is speaking to you!
Day 11: Give Freely – Proverbs 11
“Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. People curse those who hoard their grain, but they bless the one who sells in time of need. If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for …
Day 10: My Words – Proverbs 10
“The words of the Godly are a life giving fountain ; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions. Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offences. Wise words come from the lips of people with understanding, but those lacking sense will be beaten with a rod. Wise people treasure knowledge, but …
Day 9 Wisdom’s Invitation – Proverbs 9
“Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgement. Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer.” Proverbs 9:10-12 There are …
Day 8: Joyful – Proverbs 8
“Listen to me, for all who follow my ways are joyful. Listen to my instruction and be wise. Don’t ignore it. Joyful are those who listen to me, watching for me daily at my gates, waiting for me outside my home.” Proverbs 8:32-34 (NLT) To me, joy is more than just a feeling. The Joy …
Day 7: Pay Attention – Proverbs 7
“So listen to me, my sons, and pay attention to my words.” Proverbs 7:24 (NLT) This chapter tells of the seduction of a young, simple minded and unaware young man by a bold, brash, loud and experienced harlot. The man wonders up the path, by her home in the dark of night. She approaches him, …
Day 6: For Life – Proverbs 6
“For their command is a lamp and their instruction a light. Their corrective discipline is the way to life.” Proverbs 6:23-2 (NLT) The whole idea behind this group, Journaling Through Proverbs, is my deep conviction that the Word is living, powerful, relevant, life giving and necessary for peace and hope. It is my personal experience …
Day 4: Guard Your Heart – Proverbs 4
“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Proverbs 4:23 My heart will determine the course of my life. Those things I love, long for and desire will give direction to my life. It’s so easy for my heart to fall for and desire things that are not good for …
Day 3: Which Way? – Proverbs 3
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do and He will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6 I can’t get through Proverbs 3 without writing about these 2 verses, they are my life verses! Everything in my life comes …
Day 2: My Shield, Guard and Protection – Proverbs 2
“He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. He guards the paths of the just. And protects those who are faithful to Him.” Proverbs 2:7-8 Proverbs is all about wisdom, seeking it and gaining understanding. I hear that and I long for it. I want to be a person who walks out wisdom …
